Welber Barral

Works in International Trade and Government Relations, focusing on renewable energy, industry, steel, metallurgy, pulp and paper, textiles, agribusiness and export chains, financial services, technology, trading companies, public security and third sector organizations.

His career combines academic experience, senior government service and participation in international bodies. He is a panelist for the World Trade Organization, Mercosur and the United Kingdom’s dispute settlement system, and served as Secretary of Foreign Trade at Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) from 2007 to 2011. He holds a PhD in International Law from the University of São Paulo (USP) and advises companies and institutions on strategic matters of international trade, advocacy and transnational dispute settlement.
